NATURAL JUTE FACTS
Jute fiber is extracted from the jute plant that grows in tropical and humid ecosystems. The majority of its production takes place in India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.
Due to its beautiful brown and golden shiny color, jute is also known as the “Golden Fiber”. Its color can vary from white and light brown to darker earth tones.
As a plant-based natural fiber, jute integrates back into nature relatively quickly after its functional lifecycle. While jute is known to absorb water easily, it also dries quickly. Jute is highly resistant to abrasion and stains.
Jute is an annual crop that takes only 120 days to grow.
A hectare of jute plants captures about 15 tonnes of carbon dioxide and releases 11 tonnes of oxygen. Additionally, the jute plant returns nutrients to the soil and helps retain soil moisture.
IN SUMMARY – Jute is a strong fiber, breathable and with a low footprint, extremely versatile, anti-static, can be easily blended with synthetic fibres.
